Wednesday, 11th February 2015 – Ageless Grace

           

Ageless Grace is a cutting-edge brain fitness program based on neuroplasticity that activates all 5 functions of the brain - analytical, strategic, kinesthetic learning, memory/recall, creativity and imagination - and simultaneously addresses all 21 physical skills needed for lifelong optimal function. This session will include some gentle movement designed for all ages and abilities. These exercises, based on everyday movements that are natural and organic, focus on the healthy longevity of the body and mind.

 Wednesday, 25th February 2015 – Diabetes: A Modern Epidemic  

 

Diabetes has now become a healthcare crisis in this country that affects people of all ages. The only way to control the rapid spread of diabetes is to have the right knowledge about how to avoid and manage the disease. In this session we are joined by a doctor from Metro South hospital to give us the information we need to protect ourselves and our loved ones from diabetes.

Wednesday, 4th February 2015 – Annual Fraud Update        Joint Meeting with Tír na nÓg

                                                 

It’s time for our annual fraud update. Every day, scammers are coming up with new ways to try to trick people out of their hard earned money. If we are to avoid becoming the victims of their scams, we must stay well informed. To give us all the updates, we welcome a representative from the State’s Attorney’s Office to teach us about the new tricks being used by con artists and how we can better protect ourselves from fraud.

Wednesday, 18th February 2015 – Getting to Know Edward Gorey  

                                                               

Chicago born Edward Gorey was a world renowned illustrator, author, and artist. Furthermore, he remains one of literature’s most fascinating and mysterious figures. We are joined by our friend Sherry Avila who was a docent for the recent Edward Gorey exhibition at Loyola University’s Museum of Art (LUMA) to learn more about the man and his artisitc legacy. She also has a year’s membership to LUMA to give away at this event!
